Computer Literacy covers such an integral aspect of broadcast technology that it holds a special place among our curricula. From the cellphones in audiences’ pockets to dwindling yet lingering movie theatre screens, the DAVW and laptop workstations are learning and production tools we need to be knowledgeable of to effectively project images to the wide range of devices in use today and beyond.
The diaspora has a financial problem – we lack the kind of financial literacy that fosters confidence in our own abilities and therefore our own businesses and our own creativity. To spur financial activity that unifies the diasporic economy and fosters circulation of the already present wealth, students not only learn how to create money but you’ll learn the importance of plugging into the economy and how to help expand it with your native gifts and talents while making the money you deserve.
Powernomics dictates that we engage in Economics FIRST, then Politics so that we can affect the Police and Courts by influencing legislation. Powernomics further tells us to gain the ability to use Mass Communication… And so here we are. At Mass Communication and Education (which comes LAST and rightly so – we need to know what we’re teaching based on what we’ve learned, accomplished, and failed at). Students learn production in a matter-of-fact manner and in due time.
The University of HerEmAkhet was founded to help neophytes get to know themselves, help them hone their native gifts and talents to persistent excellence, and position them in the industry they are suited to operate in to ease the strain of overburdened markets’ demands for skilled media producers to help produce professional media projects. Partnered with The UrbanFire Binge Networks along with Build A Better Hood, United Hoods of America, Advance Prepatory International, Texas Seminary Christian University, and HBCUs, The University of HerEmAkhet is not only a vocational school – it is a networking hub positioned to unify the business community and content producers and owners with audiences all over the Diaspora.
